David with Chinese winemaker Wang Yilu in the vineyards

On 2013 PUCUI (Beijing) Chinese Wines Week,wines from Yuhuang winery got high praise.Its Cabernet Sauvignon took the first prize on 2013 Five Colors Coastal New Wine Festival.Wang Shusheng, director from Chinese wine technical committee commented this wine “rich in body,very full”.French Sommelier Nicolas Carre also liked this wine,said it had a good structure.The wine is works of David.

David gratuated from Australia University of Adelaide in 1999 from Agriculture and Wine Marketing and got  his post graduate diploma in viticulture and oenology from New Zealand Lincoln University.He once was the chief operations officer for Marlborough Vintners.Currently,he is the winemaker for New Zealand Viscosity Ltd.Also he is the chief winemaker for Ningxia Chateau Yuchuang.

In Yuhuang winery,everyone offered high praise for David.The knowledgable foreign wine expert is very friendly and easy-going.He lives and works with Chinese colleagues.And they dine together.Besides winemaking,he also give some trainings for workers on wine tasting,winemaking and management.Genernal manager Liu Pengtu said,David works very delligent.He keeps full records of his work during grape harvest and wine’s fermentation.He devotes himself to the winemaking. David once said he would like to share his wine-making experiences with Chinese consumers and professionals.

For David, his great mission in Chateau Yuhuang is not winemaking but help the winery to build dedicated and professional technical team.With their hard work, Chateau Yuhuang wines has win many awards. Three wines from Chateau Yuhuang, its Duck Cabernet Sauvignon and Marquis Cabernet Sauvigon and Marquis Cabernet Gernischt won gold medals for the qulity on 2013 China Fine Wines Challenge.
