The 28th Class of OIV MSc Arrived in Penglai

  After visting the eastern foot of helan mountain and Huailai wine regions, the 28th Class of OIV MSc arrived in Penglai on June 6th to continue their visit.On that day,they visited Penglai Estate DBR-CITIC,Treaty Port Vinyeards and Chateau Junding.Three different style Chateaux with different background impressed them.Staffs from Penglai grape and wine bureau accompanied them.

In Chateau DBR-CITIC,winemaker Liao Chen met the students.He introduced something about project construction and vineyard management.The chateau's main building has begun to take shape.At present,workers were busy with indoor decoration and equipment installation.Its first vintage wine has been made,the students were very curious and asked questions on their future market planning.A little sign "Don't spray pesticide!"in the vineyrds attracted them,then they asked questions on local pests and diseases.

 

Then they visited Treaty Port Vinyeards also in Mulan Gou village. The chateau was invested by British businessman Chirs Ruffle.Its unique architecture,decoration of English and Chinese characteristics,let the students feel in ancient British castle.In its cellar,winemaker Zheng Xin talked about the winery's grape planting and winemaking.

In Chateau Junding,the students visited its underground cellar,brewing workshops,wine-themed shops and self-winemaking experience zone.On viewing deck,studetns asked some questions on cellar's storage capacity,percent of aging wines,winery's operation and wedding services.The winery also prepared special wines for tasting,one Italian Riesling white and one Cabernet Sauvigon red.In self-winemaking experience zone,Chief editor of www.winechina.com Jim Sun introduced this experience process designed for tourists.They were interested in those Unique DIY labels and brewing equipments.Such kind of experiential consumption will draw consumer's attention as well as help them quickly understand winemaking process.

 

Staffs from Penglai grape and wine bureau accompanied throughout the whole visit,introduced Penglai region and shared some official datas to the students.
