The 27th Class of OIVMSc recently arrived in the eastern foot of helan mountain region.In recent years,the region has gained fame.Wines from this region often won big awards on International wine competitions.
On May 26th,the students visited Chateau Yuhuang, Meng Shaquan winery,Xixia King Yuquan International Wine Estate,Domaine Chandon (Ningxia) Moet Hennessy,GreatWall Chateau Yunmo and Chateau Helan Qingxue,these local representative wineries.
In each winery,the students visited vineyards,winery,cellar and tasted wines,asking questions about the terroir, winemaking,irrigation,history of wine development,etc.The eastern foot of Helan mountain region is the third Chinese wine protection area after Yantai and Changli.
In the evening,the group dined in Chateau Helan Qingxue.Winemaker Zhang Jing first took them around vineyards and winery,then treated them with wine and food.Everyone signed on barrels. During the dinner,Rong Jian,the owner of Chateau Helan Qingxue,vice chairman of Ningxia eastern foot of helan mountain grape and wine international federation,made a toast to them.All had a good time!
