  On June 27th,Penglai region¡¯s 2014 Sensory Evaluation Meeting on Wine Characteristic Research was held in Quancheng College.More than 20 local winemakers attended in the meeting.

On June 27th,Penglai region¡¯s 2014 Sensory Evaluation Meeting on Wine Characteristic Research was held in Quancheng College. More than 20 winemakers including Shao Xuedong,chief winemaker of COFCO Chateau Junding, Li Zefu, chief engineer of COFCO GreatWall and Du Yilong, chief engineer of Chateau State Guest attended and tasted over 40 samples including red wines,white wines and brandy.


Wine Characteristic Research is a research by studying terroir,physical and chemical indicators as well as aroma components of wines to find the characteristic wines with Penglai regional features.

 

The sensory evaluation compared Penglai Italian Riesling,Chardonnay,Cabernet Sauvignon,Syrah with those from Xinjiang and Hebei Shacheng regions.Also winemakers tasted the brandies to find its potential and as an important direction for Penglai region¡¯s next product structure adjustment.


Through the sensory evaluation, winemakers all agreed that Penglai region¡¯s white wines like Italian Riesling,and Chardonnay reflected obvious coastal wine characteristics,which the region should make more effort in the future.Some fruity wines,like Cabernet Franc,Marselen,Petit Manseng and Petit Verdot showed great potentials.
