From July 25th to 29th,Xinjiang Northern Slope of Tianshan-Manas Wine Region Terroir Conference was held in CITIC Guoan Wine Co.Ltd.
For many wine lovers,Xinjiang northern slope of Tianshan region is still a land of mystery.To hold the conference is to explre its terroir potentials,learn some experience from world's most established wine regions and promote terroir spirit in China.
CITIC Guoan Wine Company has been here for 20 years to develop wine industry.During the conference,some world's top wine experts,Bernard Burtschy(France),Andres Sanchez Westhoff (Chile),Petr McCobie(Spain),Malcolm John Reeves (New Zealand),as well as Chinese wine industry expert professor Duan Changqing,first visited CITIC Guoan Wine company's Mahe Vineyard,its Manas winery and tasted their wines.
Mahe vineyard is one of the three ecological vineyards CITIC Guoan developed in xianjiang northern slope of Tianshan.It's just located in " Bogeda Biosphere Reserve" circled by UNESCO,together with Tianchi vineyard and Changji Tunhe vineyard.Experts found many "superises" during winery visits.
CITIC Guoan Wine company has cultivated 243 grape varieties and 25 rootstocks.As the leading enterprises in Xinjiang,it's also lead the industry for sustainable development.Mahe vineyard got green food certification in 1999s. Nearly 217 hectares of Tianchi vineyards got national organic certification in 2015.
After visting the vineyards,guests with the lead of Fred Nauleau,chief winemaker of CITIC Guoan Wine tasted different styles of wines from CITIC GUOAN,white wine,niya syrah rose 2015,niya winemaker chardonnay 2014,niya Marselan 2015,niya berry selction Cabernet sauvignon 2012,2013,and 2014.
On the conference,professor Duan Changqing issused China's first terroir research data report about Cabernet Sauvigon in Xinjiang northern slope of Tianshan Manas region.Other experts also gave lectures on terroir.Winemaker Fred Nauleau has been working for CITIC Guoan Wine company for 15 years.He shared lots of imformation about Manas wine region's terroir,some research achievements due to long-term cooperation with professor Duan Changqing,and their breakthrough on wine quality,etc.
