UCWA Southern Xinjiang Held Technical Exchange Meeting

On July 19th,UCWA Southern Xinjiang held an exchange meeting which titled as"technical sharing and fine wine tasting".24 members participated in this event,with wine tasting of Chateau Lafite,Burgundy Premier Cru Pinot Noir,6 Bordeaux wines of different classe and 9 outstanding Chinese wines.
The event got great support from Nomacorc,Shenma Packing,Yu Chang Machinery and ASC Fine Wines.
It's an important event of UCWA,which aims to let Chinese winemakers have the chance to taste top wines from world class regions,broaden their horizons,enrich wine knowlegde,so to improve Chinese winemaker's overall quality.
The meeting was hosted by Yang Huafeng,chairman of UCWA Southern Xinjiang.Jim Sun,secretary general of UCWA first gave a lecture.He noted that Chinese winemakers should have the ambitious to make greater achievements.UCWA would strengthen its cooperation with more international institutions and competitions and provide a wider stage for Chinese winemakers to show themselves.Then he shared some knowlege about Bordeaux region and guided winemakers tasted 7 Bordeaux wines.The 2011 Lafite impressed all of them with complex aromas and taste.
Besides Bordeaux,Burgundy is another world famous wine region.Zou Jiyun,general manager of Xinjiang Xiangdu winery lead the Burgudy wine tasting.He once studied and worked in France,and was very much familiar with this region.Yang Huafeng then introduced the south Australia region and shared a typical syrah wine.Winemakers learned a lot from the compare tasting of three world class wine regions.
It's not just a wine tasting but technical exchange meeting among winemakers.Winemakers from Chateau Guofei, Xiangdu, Zhongfei and Aroma also brought their awarded wines for tasting.These wines have won many awards on wine competitions both at home and abroad. They also tasted some awarded wines from other china wine regions on China Fine Wine Challenge.
During the technical training,three wine supporting enterprises from the industry,Nomacorc,Shenma Packing,Yu Chang Machinery gave reports on wine closures,oak barrels and wine equipments.
It's the first event since the foundation of UCWA Southern Xinjiang.Chairman Yang Huafeng noted that the event was not only a fine wine tasting,but a grand technical sharing and exchange meeting of Xinjiang winemakers.He said the association would organize more similar activities in the future.He hoped that winemakers can make mutual improvement then boost the development of their wineries and Xinjiang region.
