May 15th was an historic day for Gansu wine industry.The Union of Chinese Winemakers Association(UVWA)-Gansu Preparatory Committee was founded in Wuwei City.Chen Pu,head of Gansu alcoholic commodities administration, vice-chairman and secretary general of Gansu wine industry association,Han Shunyu,president from food science and engineering college of Gansu agricultural university,UCWA secretary general Sun Zhijun as well as over 40 winemakers from Hexi Corridor wine region attended this event.
The conference was held in Gansu Mogao winery.Chen Pu first delivered his speech.He thanked everyone for the participation in Hexi Corridor wine event.He noted that it's a very big thing for www.winechina.com to launch the Union of Chinese Winemakers Association across China. Gansu wine industry association would gave support for the launching of Gausu association and its future development.
He then talked about China wine market and Hexi Corridor wine region.He said,now there were many marketing and consulting companies, but you can't depend on one company to become bigger and stronger. It's absolutely impossible! We ingnored the cultivation of winemakers as well as technical workers from field to workshop.It's not just in hexi corridor region. It's a problem in china's all wine regions.
At present,some regions have realized this problem. Take Gansu for example, every year we hold many different seminars, trainings, wine festival, but you seldom see winemakers in these activities.We also organized overseas study ,training and visits, but only few of them can attend. Because of these problems, you can't hear voices from our winemakers.We must realize the importance of winemakers. If we don't pay attention to the building of winemakers team, it's difficult to improve our wines quality.The industry can't have a long-term development.I gave my special thanks to Sun Zhijun for launching this association. I will fully support!
Afterwards,Sun Zhijun,the UCWA secretary general gave his speech.He talked about the original intention for launching UCWA and services www.winechina.com has done for winemakers.He said winemaker is the soul of enterprises.Wineries future competition is winemakers.The Chinese winemakers team is very promising.www.winechina.com will continue to offer services and reporting Chinese winemakers.He said winemakers team construction requires many efforts in China.He called for all forces to join in and gave their attention and support.
Until now,UVWA have founded five associtons in China,including Gansu,northern Xinjiang,southern Xinjiang,Ningxia and Qinhuangdao.
