In Liuhe county of Tonghua city in China¡¯s northeast wine region,wine industry is the whole county¡¯s leading industry.By local government support,wine industry has come into mature period.
Now,20 wineries have passed QS certification.They produce some sweet,ice wine,dry wine,sparkling,liqueur,fruit wines and non-alcohol wines.The whole county¡¯s annual production can reach 25,000 tons,worth 120millian yuan.Grape planting area nearly 12,000 mu (800 hectares),wild grape area accounts for 1.5% of China¡¯s total area for wine grapes.
In 2006,Liuhe was named as a county for China premium wild grape wines.Liuhe wild grape and Liuhe wild grape wines have been approved as National geographic certification marks.Liuhe wild grape has become National geographical indication protection products.Wines from some leading wineries like Qing Muyuan, Xuelanshan, Tianchishan, and Sipurui win 25 gold and silver medals on wine competitions and were exported to Japan,South Korean,Russian and other countries and regions.Icewines made from Beibinghong wild grapes are well-received in the wine industry.
