According to customs statistics,Xia Men totally imported 12,942, 000 liters of wines from January to August,decreased by 13.2%;At value of 240 million yuan,down 7.7%;Average price at 18.7 yuan per liter,up 6.3%.
General trade imports accounts for 71.2%,at 9,217,000 liters,reduced by 7.4%.Special customs supervision imports at 3,589,000 liters,reduced by 27.4%,accounts for 27.7%.
EU is the largest source of imports.EU wine imports accounts for 80.3%,at 10,386,000 liters,decreased by 19.2%.France import decreased by 13.1% ,at 5,026,000 liters.Spain 2,641,000 liters,decreased by 19.3%.Italy2,120,000 liters,decreased by 24.5%.But Chile wine imports increased by 78.1%,at 959,000 liters;Australia 658,000 liters,increased by 13.6%.
Reasons for the decreased wine imports:
On one hand,as government¡¯s anti-corruption and anti-luxury consumption policies,there is weak demand for high-end wines on Chinese market.On the other hand,as global climate change,main wine production countries,like France,Italy and Spain suffered low temperature,hail storm and other bad weathers,which impact their wine production and quality.
Some noteworthy problems in current wine industry:
Wine consumption become rational,low and medium wine consumption become mainstream.High taxes weaken the competitiveness of domestic wine industry.
