The climate of this region is very cold in winter, from minus30¡æ to minus 40¡æ, annual annual active accumulated temperature 2567¡æ¡ª2779¡æ, annual rainfall is from 635mm to 679mm, the soil is chernozem, which is very rich, because of its resistance to low temperature, wild grape are the main varieties in this region.
In recent years wine production in this region get a great development, most of the wineries concentrated on Tonghua city. Up to the end of 2002, production competence of Tonghua city reaches 70000 ton and total production reaches 46000 ton. . Now Tonghua has 48000 mu vineyard. ¡®Tonghua¡¯ wine was praised as a famous brand in China.
