Yunnan is in Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. This region is located in 21°9′—29°15′N and 97°39′—106°12’E. There are many mountains, rivers and lakes in this region, having an average elevation of 2000 meters, top elevation of 6740 m. This region has a subtropical zone plateau monsoon climate, elevation and latitude has a great influence to annual average temperature. Affected by the airflow from Pacific ocean and Indian Ocean, season changing is not obviously but rain season and dry season are distinctive. From November to April are dry season, enough sunshine, more sun day, less rainfall, temperature varing greatly between day and night; from May to October are rain season, rainfall are concentrated on July to September, during rain season there are enough rainfall, temperature varing little between day and night, annual rainfall about 500-2800mm

Winegrape are distributed in Mile, Mengzi and Chenggong county. Fine varieties are mainly concentrated in the Dongfeng farmland in Mile county, the distinctive feature of this county is karst topography, most of land are mountains and plateau, hills are set in the mountains, forming big basins. Weathered conglomerate forms soil, this soil contains high organic compounds, high fertility, fit for growth of grape. The average temperature is 17.38℃, lowest temperature is in December, average temperature of this month is 9.81℃; highest temperature is in July,average temperature of this month is 22.64℃. The whole years rainfall is 720.49mm. The sunshine time in the whole year is 2129.43h.
