Xinjiang Region
Consists of Yushan in Turpan Basin, Manas plain and Shi Hezi area, Xinjiang region has sandy loam, dry climate, no plant diseases and insect pests, high active accumulated temperature, great different in temperature between day and night which is benefit to accumulate sweet. But due to too high temperature in summer, grape ripens in a very short time, which made the grape contains high sweet and low acid. Despite of that, this region is a good region for distinctive varieties.
Shanshan region is in warm temperate zone, dry climate, annual active accumulated temperature is 4500-5000¡æ, dry and hot in summer, the average temperature of warmest month reaching 28-34¡æ, temperature varies greatly between day and night, enough sunshine and little rainfall, annual rainfall between 20-50mm. Irrigation water is from underground channels and melted snow from TianshanMountain. Yushan region is near to FlameMountain, the soil is sandy, permeable to water and air, so water and manure leak down. The fitable fine varieties includes £ºGamay¡¢Cheni Blanc¡¢Grenache¡¢Sinsuat¡¢Chardonnay¡¢Syah¡¢Samillion¡¢Baiyu. These varieties grew well, high yield and being the source of high-quality wine. Because of enough heat, sugar content as high as 25-28¡ã£¬lower acid content. This region is fit for sweet wine or blended wine. Now the main varieties are Wu Hebai and Kesheger.
Manas plain is in middle temperate zone, dry zone or middle-dry zone. The climate is cool in growing period, annual active accumulated temperature is 3200-3800¡æ, average temperature from June to July is 21-22¡æ, temperature varies greatly between day and night, annual rainfall is 200-300mm. Middle and late-maturing varieties can ripe very well. The climate is cooler in the later growing period and this region has many advantage to produce balanced red dry, white dry and Champaign. Pinot noir, Riesling, Chardonnay and Semillon also have a god performance in this region. This region has a varied topography, it is possible to choose the fittest variety for every small region.
Shi Hezi region is located in the north of Tianshan Mountain, the south of Junggar Basin, 85¡ã-86¡ã30¡äE, 43¡ã30¡ä-45¡ã40¡äN, where is a golden site for grape cultivation. The terrain slopes from southeast to northwest, from south to north is loess hills, inclined plain and alluvial plain. The climate is distinct in four seasons, annual average temperature 6.0-6.6¡æ, free-frost period is 160-170days, active accelerated temperature higher than 10¡ãis 34.78¡æ. 14 days¡¯ temperature is higher than 35¡ãannual year in this region. The lowest monthly average temperature is-16.1¡æ, the highest monthly average temperature is 24.9¡æ, annual rainfall is 110-200mm. Sunshine time is 2779.5h, sunshine time in growing seasons (From April to June) is 1900-2000 and sunshine rate is 63%. Shi Hezi region is located in alluvial plain, soil can be classified into gravelly soil, sandy loam and loam. The soil in there is deep, penetrative, high in humus. The matural grape in Shi Hezi region is bright color, high in sugar, moderate acidity, can be preserved for a long time.
