Helan Mountains Region in Ningxia Province
The east part of HelanMountains is set in the west of Yinchuan plain, in which 1.20million mu is fit to develop vineyard,. Thia area belongs to middle temperature zone, the average temperature 8.9¡æ, from April to September active accumulated temperature of 3289¡æ, annual rainfall of 150-200mm,Sunshine hours of 3029.6h, dry climate and enough sunshine, temperature varies greatly between day and night. In the west HelanMountains resisting cold current, in the east irritation water can get from HuangheRiver, the water supply can be satisfied.
According to statistic datas, this region is better than Bordeaux in temperature, humidity, water and heat coefficient. Grape in this region has many advantages such as few plant diseases and insect pests, good flavors, good pigment, high sugar, middle acidity, high yield, no pollution, high quality. This is a green-food base, richly endowed by nature.
National Agriculture Department has planned to build a premium winegrape base, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region has prepared to construct a winegrape base which is more than 100 thousand mu. Yin Guangxia Group and National Chemical Group invested in grape base constructing. The vineyard area of Yin Guangxia Company is over 26 thousand mu, annual production 15 thousand ton. Now Ningxia has built a grape base of 40000mu and passed Original Region Products Protection application in 2003.
