Procedures of label audit for imported food

Acceptance of audit:

Authority: China National Quality Inspection Bureau

Materials required for audit:

1. 《Application form of label audit for imported & exported food》

2．Business licence of producers and retailers.

3．Seven sets of food label samples. All samples must be the actual ones that are used inimporting and selling.

4．Legal Certificate for sales or origin of products in producing countries or areas.

5. All application materials must be sealed upon application companies. All materials in foreign languages must be translated into Chinese.

Announcement:

If application materials are not complete or proper, applicants should be informed on the spot, or be issued with an 《supplementary materials lists for imported and exported food label audit》 within five working days.

Acceptance:

Acceptance authority must make out or not the decision of acceptance according to the completeness of application materials and the properness of label types.

Authority must issue the form 《Unaccepted of imported and exported food label audit》

Auditing:

It is stated in National Quality Inspection Bureau that decision of permission or not should be made within thirteen working days after application materials，inspection opinion and examination result are audited. 《Audit Certificate of Imported and Exported Food Label》 should be issued for those which are permitted, and 《Unqualified Audit Notice of Imported and Exported Food Label》 for those that are not permitted.

National Quality Inspection Bureau should not repeatedly require applicants for application materials.
