PRESENTATION
The
web site “Fonti enologiche Italia-Cina” owes its birth to the
meeting of two groups of people of different origin and culture,
united by a common interest in wine. Those concerned are researchers
from the Istituto di Enologia e Ingegneria Alimentare of
the University of Piacenza and journalists from the web site
“winechina.com”, within which the “Fonti enologiche
Italia-Cina ” are hosted. To carry through this initiative, the
Istituto di Enologia has
benefited from the collaboration of Carlo Queruli, an Italian wine
specialist who now lives in China and who, thanks to his knowledge
of the language, has direct access to the wine producing situation
there.
The
spirit animating the minds behind this site immersed in cultural
exchange is of a twofold nature:
-
From one aspect we have the gathering of documents and news
to help us get better access to the growing Chinese
Oenology. For various reasons today’s Chinese researchers
and technicians often have
difficulties exchanging technical scientific notions with the
traditional vine growing nations. One of these reasons without a
doubt is the language barrier. The creation of the “ Fonti
enologiche Italia-Cina ” web site has conjectured a systematic
approach to overcome these difficulties with the implementation of a
specific lexicon.
-
And from another aspect we also we have a space dedicated to
the insertion of news about Italian wine making, apart from more
in/depth knowledge into specific technical-scientific arguments, so
that the results of Italian research can become widespread. In this
way a better identification of the image of Italian wine in China
can be obtained.
The choice of news and arguments can be amplified and/or
modified in time, so that the “Fonti enologiche Italia-Cina”
site can develop and become complete in concurrence with the
developments of the oenological science. Anyone who is interested in
the initiative and who wishes to make their own contribution can do
so by contacting Valeria Mazzoleni at the Istituto di Enologia of
Piacenza, as far as regards Italy (valeria.mazzoleni@pc.unicatt.it),
and Jim Sun at the winechina.com site, as far as regards China (jimsun@winechina.com).
